How Do They Work?
So first we should start by answering the question above. These wash test indicators were made to test the quality of the cleaning provided by your Hydrim washer. But, specifically your Hydrim washer’s cycle with HIP solution. This HIP Solution (or HYDRIM Cleaning Solution with Instrument Protection) is a cleaning solution automatically added at various stages of the cycle. And it comes in the form of standard HIP solution or HIP Ultra cleaning solution. It’s designed to remove protein and debris from the instruments. And this solution boasts a 99.9% protein removal rating in its cycles. And that solution is what these Wash Test Indicators are meant to test.
They do this by using square indicator sheets that sit on both the inside and outside of a purple plastic holder. That holder is then hooked onto the side of the tray that you’ll be using during the cycle. The purple on the indicator is a synthetic, non-toxic testing soil that becomes less apparent with the more it gets thoroughly clean. Then after the cycle, the purple square should be inspected and then given a verdict of a passing or a failed cleaning.
