Continuing our series of checklists, today we’re moving on to the Tuttnauer 2340M Autoclave. Tuttnauer is a staple brand with some of the best autoclaves on the market, and that goes for their classics like the 2340M. And even for a previous generation model, it still holds up today. So in this article, we’re going to go over its preventative maintenance checklist. What you need and when you need it to keep it functioning at 100%. And doing everything we can to extend the life of your autoclave for as long as possible.

The Preventative Maintenance
Daily Maintenance
The daily maintenance on your Tuttnauer 2340M consists of cleaning the unit daily and replacing the water with fresh water. The daily maintenance checklist requires you to:
- Replace distilled water in reservoir as needed
- Clean door gasket with a micro fiber cloth/dishwashing soap and inspect for crease or tears
- Wipe exterior of unit and surrounding area with Optim disinfecting wipes

Weekly Maintenance
The weekly maintenance revolves around cleaning the chamber and its contents, rinsing the chamber filter, and draining the reservoir. The weekly maintenance says you should:
- Clean the chamber, rack, and trays with T-Clean chamber shine (If you are not using this product, use chamber brite weekly instead of monthly)
- Remove chamber filter and rinse with water
- Drain reservoir and use opticlave to clean the water reservoir
- Lubricate threads and hinge of door closing device with WD-40 or equivalent penetrating oil

Monthly
Monthly maintenance consists of running a cycle with Chamber Brite to thoroughly clean the chamber and plumbing. For monthly maintenance, you should:
- Run a Chamber Brite cycle to descale chamber and internal plumbing
For best results, run Chamber Brite every 20-25 cycles

Every 6 Months
Maintenance that occurs every 6 months consists of checking and replacing the door gasket. Every 6 months, you are recommended to:
- Replace the Door Gasket

Yearly
Every year:

Replace the safety valve, door gasket, and air jet (black top)
