Preview: The New SciCan Statim B G4+
As updates unfold in the different areas of the sterilization world, we were surprised to get this. SciCan has announced an entirely new autoclave that they’re bringing to their lineup. They’ve announced the new SciCan Statim B G4+ autoclave. Now, the main thing to note is that SciCan themselves aren’t based in the United States. This machine has been available to the European market for almost 9 months now. But, it was teased by SciCan last December that the new Statim B G4+ would be getting an English release.
So, we’d still like to provide information and updates as they come in. Because we have good news, this new machine is slated to hit the US market mid-2023! And you might be thinking “do I need another autoclave?” Yes. You do. And if you don’t, make an exception. Because from what we’ve seen, the new SciCan Statim B G4+ is looking sharp.
What We Know So Far
As of the time this blog is released, the timestamp should put it as being a month after the first official English teaser dropped. SciCan uploaded a teaser video on their YouTube back in mid-December of 2022. In the teaser they use the tagline: “From the legacy of Statim… the story continues.” Indicating that this is the next generation of their existing Statim autoclaves. A new face to a familiar name.
The autoclave itself has gotten a sleek new upgrade. The shape of the autoclave has gone from a tabletop cube shape to a flatter, sleeker rectangular shape. It sits much lower down with a deeper chamber to still fit a good amount. Utilizing the same turning door lock mechanism that users of the Enbio S would find familiar.
It sports a new touchscreen, and while the touchscreen itself isn’t new to Statim, what the screen reflects is. The touchscreen display has also gotten an upgrade, showing a brand new, more updated and modern looking interface. Possibly coming from the fact that this is part of their new G4+ technology.
And looking at these shots of the front interface panel as well, there’s something neat going on. Notice the light bar that extends to outline the entire panel. It starts white, but when the machine’s different functions are accessed, the light bar responds accordingly based on its color.
It looks like white is the default color. With red being a possible cycle start indicator. And the blue light being the end of cycle indicator. Definitely a very interesting feature for an autoclave.
The Specs
There isn’t much available about the autoclave, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing. There is a list of things that this new SciCan Statim B G4+ is capable of, such as:
- Sterilize and dry wrapped loads in under 27 minutes
- 6-liter chamber reprocesses 2 cassettes or 12 pouches
- Improved G4+ technology: track load release, maintenance reminders, data storage and more
- Pre-heating/standby heating
- Online customer portal
- Remote technical support
- Delayed start
- Sterilization monitering
- Automatic user interface software updates
Final Thoughts
While this new SciCan Statim B G4+ isn’t released in the US yet, we’ve still got information to tell you. And what we do know is, it’s pretty indicative that SciCan hasn’t lost their touch. The sleek new machine body, updated to go with the times. Brand new and improved user interface, powered by their upgraded G4+ technology. Navigated by a user-friendly touchscreen, wrapped in a new light bar indicator to visually notify you of the functions your machine is performing.
