In this article, we’re going to explain one of the many error codes that can affect your Midmark M9/Midmark M11 autoclave. This article will focus specifically on error code C571. We’ll tell you about the problem, what displays when the error occurs, its possible causes, and the course of action to take to resolve said error.

Display/Symptom

C647: DRY MODE PRESSURE HIGH

PUSH STOP TO RESTART

Gauge pressure inside chamber is equal to or greater than 2.18 psi (15 kPa) during DRY mode, or 0.7 psi (5 kPa) during DOOR mode.

Causes, Checks and Actions

If Door did not open before DRY mode… 

 Possible Cause 1: Power interruption. (Unit lost power for a few seconds during Fill, Heat-Up, or Sterilization Mode.)
  •  Check: Check power cord connections. (Power interruption could be due to an electrical storm, brown out, etc.)
  • Action: Secure power cord connections. (At wall outlet & sterilizer receptacle)

Possible Cause 2: The operator may have unplugged the unit when a previous error code was displayed.
  •  Check: Check previous error codes. Refer to: Service Diagnostics (Recall Errors)
  • Action: Refer to the error code(s) in this troubleshooting chart.

  • Possible Cause 3: Temperature sensor malfunctioning. 
  • Check A: Check for residue build up on temperature sensor probe.
  • Action A: Clean sensor probe with Speed-Clean, distilled water, and abrasive pad.

Possible Cause 4: Sterilizer is unlevel. (remove tray/trays) 
  • Check 1: Verify support surface is level.
  • Check 2: Verify water on all sides of chamber are equal.
  • Action: Place sterilizer on a level support surface.
