The W&H Assistina Twin

The W&H Assistina Twin

We’ve talked about a wide variety of medical products and devices catered to sterilization. But today we have something a bit different on our plates. And itW&H Assistina Twin handpiece processing device. comes to us from W&H. We recently talked about their W&H Lexa autoclave that we had gotten in stock. A new sterilizer capable of many modern feats with a host of fancy features. But recently we got our hands on one of their other devices that isn’t what we’ve normally covered. W&H recently released a device that was meant to reprocess or maintain handpieces. This device is the new W&H Assistina Twin unit.

The W&H Assistina Twin goes above and beyond normal reprocessing devices, and we’d like to show you why. It sports a twin chamber setup for lubrication and thorough cleaning needs. It can remove the dirt and debris from your tools in an ultra-fast 10 seconds. Pairing its speed with its intuitive and easy-to-use process makes the Assistina Twin a force to be reckoned with. The W&H Assistina Twin

So we mentioned a couple of the Twin’s features, but now we’ll tell you what we know about the specifics.

How Does it Work? The W&H Assistina Twin can process up to 360 instruments per hour.

One of the first things to go over is how this machine works. What does it do for you? For starters, the W&H Assistina Twin is classified as a “Handpiece Reprocessing Device.” It’s meant to process your handpieces that function with an adapter. Like a dental drill let’s say. It plugs in to a machine to run it when it’s in use. To maintain it with the Twin unit, you attach it to one of the chambers using that same adapter. Its job is to clean the handpiece you put into the adaptor. Getting rid of any debris that may be hiding within it. It does this by using new oil and nebulizing it before spraying it inside of the handpiece.

Normally, to clean something like that with intricate parts, you’d have to set them yourself. But thanks to the mist, it cleans every inch of the inside without the need to do anything. Once the mist does its job, it’s suctioned out and passed through the HEPA filter this machine uses.

Making Quick Work of Things

Part of the Assistina Twins’ list of great qualities is how fast it can process things. And it’s not just due in part to its speed. You could say it’s fastThe W&H Assistina Twin dual lubrication chambers and care set. turnaround is also helped by how user-friendly it is. The Assistina Twin has a supremely easy setup process. Load your oil and fluid in through the required cartridges in the top and just put the cover back on. And to use it? Simply connect your dental tool to the adapter. But if it doesn’t fit, W&H’s Quick Connect system has you covered. They have easily changeable adapters to fit the right tools! And after a simple button press for 5 seconds, the filling process is initiated. And all you have to do is watch the indicator lights for when your cycle is done, and it’s time to switch chambers.

But it’s user-friendly processing isn’t the only reason for its high turnaround. It’s also due to the fact that, while the chambers take at least a minute to fill, the cycle is much faster. The Assistina Twin boasts a cycle time of just 10 seconds. Yes, that’s counting on your fingers 10. Fast. Efficient. The Assistina Twin, with its two chamber setup and ludicrous cycle times, can output at most, 360 tools per hour. Now that’s probably not going to happen to you in just an hour. But if it can handle 360 tools an hour through a nonstop run, the Twin is going to be your best friend in any scenario.

Cost-Effective Nature

And of course, what kind of mechanical marvel would this machine be without cost-effectiveness? You may be thinking, “how is something that can output that much in an hour be cost effective?” Well here’s something for you. You most likely won’t reach that hourly limit enough to even have to worry about that. So that means in a normal work day you’ll have your set amount of cycles run with your Assistina Twin. But the oil and fluid only need to be changed every 2,800 tools. So you get maximum effort for minimal cost. Not only are your cycles fast, but the amount of materials used are cost effective. And when it comes time to change them, it’s super simple. So you’re never going to be out of commission with your W&H Assistina Twin hard at work.

Final Thoughts

As often as we’ve been talking about autoclaves recently, it was interesting to switch it up a bit. And when W&H set the intrigue bar this high with their Assistina Twin, we’re not sure what to expect next. A fast, reliable and eco-friendly bundle of a machine. With W&H’s Quick Connect parts, it can tackle any handpiece you throw at it. And with such fast cycles, as little as 10 seconds after the chamber is filled. And once it’s done, the second chamber can be closed and started immediately while you’re taking out the tool in chamber 1 and putting a new one in for after chamber 2 is done.
