Midmark M9-05X PM Checklist
Continuing our series of checklists, today we’re moving on to the Midmark M9-05X autoclave. This upgraded M9 autoclave comes as a part of Midmark’s 5th generation of steam
sterilizers, with new features and quality of life improvements that bring the experience to a more modern standard. And with an autoclave as unique as Midmark’s latest offerings, maintenance is just as crucial as ever to keep it running like new. We understand that remembering the lengthy list of steps for proper maintenance can be difficult. So we opted to take the hard work out of the equation with our PM Checklists.
So in this article, we’re going to go over the preventative maintenance checklist for the Midmark M9-05X . This checklist contains what parts you need and when you need it, to keep it functioning at 100%. And doing everything we can to extend the life of your autoclave for as long as possible. WARNING! To prevent burns, allow unit to cool before cleaning gaskets and internal surfaces or removing trays, tray rack, tray plate and filters.
EQUIPMENT ALERT: If you frequently process lubricated instruments, drain and refill the reservoir with distilled water or water that meets water purity specified in the user guide.
NOTE: If an Auto-Fill system is enabled proceed to the next step after draining the reservoir
Daily Maintenance
The daily maintnance on the Midmark M9-05X consists of exterior cleaning and daily inspections.
- Clean external surfaces with soap and water and disinfect with Optim1 Cleaner.
- Clean exposed surfaces of door and dam gaskets with a so cloth moistened with distilled water. If necessary, use Speed-Clean and a so brush.
- Inspect door and dam gaskets for damage – Replace if damaged.*
- Optionally, drain and refill reservoir with distilled water.

Weekly Maintenance
The weekly maintnance on the Midmark M9-05X consists of exterior cleaning and daily inspections.
Note: On weeks when performing Monthly Care the Weekly Care is not required.
- Complete Daily Care – Clean external surfaces and gaskets.
- Drain water reservoir – Clean with OptiClave – Refill reservoir.
- Remove trays, tray rack and tray plate – Clean using Speed-Clean – Rinse with Distilled Water.
- Clean inside of chamber using Speed-Clean and rinse with distilled water.
- Reinsert tray plate, tray rack, and trays.

Monthly Maintenance
The monthly maintnance on the Midmark M9-05X consists of completing required cleaning cycles and inspecting the internal valves and filters.
- Complete Daily Care – Clean external surfaces and gaskets.
- Run a cleaning cycle using one ounce of Speed-Clean.
- Run a rinsing cycle using distilled water.
- Check pressure relief valve.
- Wipe inside of chamber and trays.
- Clean filters using Speed-Clean and distilled water.

Yearly
With the yearly maintenance, any steps will include the use of the Midmark M9-05X Preventative Maintenance Kit:
Install Door & Dam Gasket Kit, Chamber Filters, and Gasket Ring included in PM Kit.
